This policy describes the Android app and its separate optional browser planner.
SECTION 01Purpose and scope
Maritime Context Notes is an offline discussion-brief tool. It does not provide live maritime monitoring, navigation, legal advice, certification, compliance approval or operational decisions.
SECTION 02Information you enter
You may enter project labels, observations, uncertainty, questions, roles, assumptions and follow-up notes. The app does not require real vessel, client, defence, court or private-person data.
SECTION 03Local database
Saved briefs are stored in the app-private Room/SQLite database on this device.
SECTION 04Independent alternatives
Creating an alternative makes a new local record with new child identifiers. It does not send or synchronize the original.
SECTION 05Organization contacts
Public organization contacts are displayed as reference information. No email address is configured to receive a brief in this private review.
SECTION 06Copying a brief
Copy is a user-initiated transfer to the system clipboard. Another app may read clipboard content according to the operating system.
SECTION 07Deleting local work
Delete removes only the selected local record after confirmation. It cannot recall text already copied elsewhere.
SECTION 08Retention
Briefs remain until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app.
SECTION 09Backup and transfer
Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for app data.
SECTION 10Permissions
The app does not request Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, nearby-device or media-library permissions.
SECTION 11Security limits
App-private storage provides operating-system access separation. Room is not encryption and the app does not claim protection against a compromised device.
SECTION 12Libraries
The app uses Android and Jetpack libraries for interface, lifecycle and local storage. No analytics, advertising, account or network SDK is included.
SECTION 13No accounts
There is no account, login, cloud profile or password managed by this app.
SECTION 14No tracking
The app does not collect telemetry, advertising identifiers, location, usage analytics or live maritime data.
SECTION 15Children
The product is designed for adult project discussions and does not target children.
SECTION 16International and professional use
Use across jurisdictions or professional settings does not turn the app into legal, safety, navigation or certification advice. Consult qualified authorities.
SECTION 17Website planner
The optional browser planner stores its own records in that browser localStorage. It does not synchronize with the Android app.
SECTION 18Questions and changes
Public app-support and privacy contacts are not yet assigned for this private review. Material product changes require an updated policy before public release.
